Toolkit Framework - Communities of Practice
The Curriculum Commons Steering Committee adopted Communities of Practice as a key element of the Curriculum Commons Model. As the project unfolds (Development and Implementation) over the next several years, we envision that Communities of Practice will play a pivotal role in sustaining the model over time. The Communities of Practice will be established to address both strategic and operational requirements of the collaborating colleges. The first Community of Practice was established in 2010, and consisted of faculty members from each of the four collaborating colleges. Their purpose was to examine several nursing models and theories, and develop a conceptual framework that would underpin the co-owned Practical Nurse Curriculum. (Please see links for details.)
