Toolkit Framework - Curriculum Sustainability
Over the past few years, NorQuest College has developed a high-quality “Curriculum Development and Maintenance Project Lifecycle” process. This process was developed by the Health and Human Service Careers Curriculum Quality Assurance Department under the leadership of Linda Nykolyn, Coordinator.
The Department provided unique curriculum development and quality assurance services to the Practical Nurse program. Of note is that some of the staff are not only registered nurses, but also are experienced instructional designers. Thus, they are well positioned to provide unique services to the faculty. The faculty consists, for the most part, of registered nurses who not only focus on teaching, but also provide some input into curriculum design. In this case, the leadership for curriculum and instructional design comes from the Curriculum Quality Assurance Department.
This model supports a well designed, highly integrated, and sustainable curriculum to the Practical Nurse program.
